The New England Equity Assistance Center (NEEAC) provides technical assistance and professional development to help states, districts, and public schools implement policies and practices that promote access to high-quality education for all students.
We focus on issues of race, gender, and national origin equity that schools must address in order to deliver effective instruction and close persistent achievement gaps. We work at the request of school boards or other responsible governmental agencies in the New England region.
New England Equity Assistance Center staff presented processes and tools they have found helpful in gauging the readiness of districts and schools to offer effective professional development within a comprehensive program that fully addresses the academic, linguistic, and cultural needs of English language learners.
